Conclusions
An image retrieval algorithm based on color contrast and cohesion is presented in this
paper. Unlikely traditional image retrieval method only using pixel statistical charac-
teristics, the method not only utilizes significance of each pixel, but also spacial color
distributing information of the same color. Experimental results show that the pro-
posed method has better image retrieval effectiveness than the classic histogram and
the weighted color histogram method.
