Check if the editor is in
Bitmap Mode
or in
Vector Mode
. To create our drawing,
we will select
Vector Mode
.

Select the Ellipse tool (the circle) seen on the right-hand side of the drawing canvas.
Click and hold the let mouse buton and drag it. You will probably end up with
something that's not quite a circle.
