In-Depth Information
OVERVIEW Like the rest of the resort, Cape May Café is themed to a comfortable beachside
setting with inviting pastel colors. Breakfast is a character affair with the usual suspects
like waffles and pancakes, in addition to elevated offerings like smoked salmon, creamy
cheddar grits, and sliced capicola. Dinner is more expensive and characterless, with an em-
phasis on seafood paella, peel-and-eat shrimp, snow crab legs, salmon, clams, and mussels,
in addition to salads and roasted meats. Kid options include chicken nuggets and macaroni.
Both meals are above average, though the lack of Mickey at breakfast is disappointing.

OVERVIEW Big River is the only working brewpub on property, offering five beers brewed
on-site, in addition to a robust menu featuring less expensive sandwich fare along with
more expensive steaks and ribs. The less expensive burgers and sandwiches are more re-
liable than the more expensive items. Beer is unique and decent, but not up to snuff com-
pared to some of the better bottled craft brews available at other restaurants. Diners can
sit inside the family-friendly restaurant or outside on the boardwalk overlooking Crescent
Lake. Most sports and beer fans will want to take a look at ESPN Club a few hundred feet
away. The restaurant otherwise has very little kid appeal, though its menu includes similar
burgers and sandwiches.
