Jim's Gems
by Jim Korkis
Flame Tree Barbeque offers good barbeque and a beautiful view of Expedition
Everest and Discovery River. However, the counter service eatery was designed to
showcase a predator and prey motif. Even the exterior sign has images of a crocodile
taking a bite of a fish and an owl hunting rabbits. These motifs are repeated inside
with images of snakes eating mice, anteaters slurping up ants, and spiders trapping
butterflies. The backs of all the chairs feature predators, while the design on the tab-
letops depicts their prey. It is all part of the well-known “circle of life”.
