Where to Eat
First-time family visitors to Walt Disney World need to know three things about dining:
1. Several dining venues are among the most memorable and delightful experiences
Walt Disney Word has to offer. Options range from dining in the banquet hall inside
Cinderella Castle with the Disney Princesses to sharing sushi and filet mignon on
the 15th floor of the Contemporary to joining Mickey and the Gang for lunch in an
exotic African marketplace.
2. Table service reservations open 180 days in advance, and availability at the most
sought-after restaurants is gobbled up almost immediately. A list of the hardest res-
taurants to reserve follows later.
3. Disney World dining is expensive. Expect to pay 25-40% more on-property than
you would for comparable meals off-property, whether we're talking about a fast
food hamburger at Pecos Bill's or a 28-ounce Porterhouse at Yachtsman Steakhouse.
In effect, most of the upcharge is a convenience fee, but the Disney restaurants offer
a reliably consistent experience, many times in unique settings.

QUICK OR COUNTER SERVICE
Basically a fancy name for fast food, quick service locations
don't accept reservations and food is usually ordered at a register and then available for
