Where to Eat [Chapter 7]
Target your dining venues based on our recommendations, our reviews, or simply where
you are when you're hungry!
First-time family visitors to Walt Disney World need to know three things about dining:
1. Several dining venues are among the most memorable and delightful experiences
Walt Disney Word has to offer.
2. Table service reservations open 180 days in advance. Availability at the most
sought-after restaurants is taken almost immediately.
3. Disney World dining is expensive. Expect to pay 25 to 40% more on-property than
you would for comparable meals off-property. For most (but not all) visitors, the
Disney Dining Plan won't save any money.
For families, we recommend:
• The Princess meals: Cinderella's Royal Table at the Magic Kingdom and Akershus
Royal Banquet Hall at Epcot. The first has the better setting, the second is much
less expensive.
• Dining with Tigger, Pooh, and friends at the Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom.
• Dining with Mickey and Friends at Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Re-
sort and 'Ohana breakfast at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort.
• Dining in the Beast's Castle at Be Our Guest Restaurant in Magic Kingdom.
• Various degrees of wait-staff induced silliness at 50's Prime Time Café at Disney's
Hollywood Studios and Whispering Canyon Café at Disney's Wilderness Lodge.
• The Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, a fun, energetic dinner show with interactive
elements and plenty of audience participation at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort.
• Exotic settings in the local versions of national chain restaurants like the Rainforest
Café, in both Disney's Animal Kingdom and Downtown Disney, and T-REX in
Downtown Disney.
For couples looking for the most romantic atmosphere and the best food, we suggest:
California Grill —located on the 15th floor of the Contemporary Resort, it offers
breathtaking views of Magic Kingdom during the evening fireworks, in addition to
a great menu focused on fresh ingredients, sushi, and contemporary cocktails.
