In-Depth Information
WDW, with the high altitude and rocket ships that slant inward. CAN WE HANDLE IT? Put a
parent with each kid to help with any fears about height. Those with severe fear of heights
should sit this out. Motion sickness is rarely an issue. Note that the seating situation is dif-
ferent than other spinner rides. Riders sit one in front of the other with their legs spread out
to the sides. Two adults may want to split up as parties of one for a more comfortable ride.
The brief elevator ride before and after the ride is packed full and cramped.
WHEN TO GO At park open or in the final hour of operation. EXPECT TO WAIT 20-40 minutes
in the afternoon. LENGTH
2 minutes. WHERE TO SIT
Seat adults in back with the kids up
front.
Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin
RANKING Don't miss. EMH Morning, Evening. FP+ Yes. Medium priority. TYPE Dark ride
shooting gallery. REQUIREMENTS None.
WHAT TO EXPECT In this slow-moving ride, prospective space rangers protect the universe
by turning their ride vehicle and shooting an “ion cannon” at targets as they traverse a
series of Toy Story -themed spaces. Vehicles hold more than two, but have only two can-
nons. Scores are tallied, so you compete with your ride-mate. The simple concept—being
inside a Toy Story -themed video game—delights almost everyone. SCARY FACTOR None.
CAN WE HANDLE IT? A joystick controls much of the spinning. Keep youngsters away to en-
joy a ride with less motion.
WHEN TO GO First two or last two hours of operation, or with FastPass+. EXPECT TO WAIT
25-80 minutes in the afternoon. LENGTH 5 minutes. WHERE TO SIT All vehicles and seats
give the same experience.
Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor
RANKING Minor attraction. EMH Evening (usually first hour only). FP+ Yes. Low priority.
TYPE Interactive show. REQUIREMENTS None.
WHAT TO EXPECT Mike Wazowski, the one-eyed green monster from Monsters Inc. , puts on
a comedy show to collect laughs from the audience to power Monstropolis. Cool techno-
logy allows the monsters to directly interact with the audience. The laughs typically are
weak—though often fun for kids. Turtle Talk with Crush at Epcot uses similar technology
much, much better. Those on shorter visits may elect to skip. SCARY FACTOR None, if your
kids have seen the movies. CAN WE HANDLE IT? Avoid if you already have had enough Billy
Crystal in your life.
WHEN TO GO Anytime attraction. See it when waits are long at other rides, or you need to get
out of the weather. EXPECT TO WAIT 10-20 minutes in the afternoon. LENGTH 10 minutes.
WHERE TO SIT As in most shows, the center of the theater seating, midway back, give the
best views.
