In-Depth Information
SCARY FACTOR With max speeds over 60 miles per hour, three inversions, and multiple
corkscrews, this is arguably Disney's most intense roller coaster. The dark setting may ac-
tually ease fears as the track is never fully visible to riders. CAN WE HANDLE IT? The initial
launch is the most intense part—the rest of the ride is relatively tame compared to any ma-
jor coaster at Six Flags or Universal. Anyone that made it through Everest or Space Moun-
tain should be fine.
WHEN TO GO First thing or immediately after Toy Story Mania, in the final hour of opera-
tion, or with FastPass+. Rock 'n' Roller Coaster offers a single-rider line, but because it's
impossible to know how many people are ahead of you in it before you actually get to the
indoor pre-show area, it's not recommended. EXPECT TO WAIT 50 to 100 minutes in the af-
ternoon. LENGTH 90 seconds. WHERE TO SIT Request the front row for the best view, the
middle if you're apprehensive, or the back to see all the twists and turns.
Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
RANKING Don't miss. EMH Morning, Evening. FP+ Yes. Highest Tier 2 priority. TYPE El-
evator drop. REQUIREMENTS 40” or taller.
WHAT TO EXPECT A pre-show video in the dilapidated hotel's library explains the circum-
stances surrounding your unfortunate visit. After a tense five- to ten-minute wait in the
boiler room, you board your elevator, which will embark on an eerie journey through the
hotel. Anyone going down? SCARY FACTOR High. The most obviously frightening ride at
Disney World, and one of few that puts an emphasis on fear. There are no particularly scary
images or scenes, but Disney does an excellent job of building tension up to the final drop,
which begins at 170 feet above ground at a speed faster than gravity would naturally pull.
CAN WE HANDLE IT? Motion sickness can be an issue, but otherwise walk the nervous past
the ride exit and note that almost everyone leaves with a smile on their faces.
WHEN TO GO Immediately after Toy Story Mania and/or Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, in the final
hour of operation, or with FastPass+. EXPECT TO WAIT 50-100 minutes in the afternoon.
LENGTH 5 minutes. WHERE TO SIT All seats are good, but the view from the front row is the
least obscured.
The Magic Kingdom
The original Walt Disney World theme park and the most popular theme park in the world,
Magic Kingdom offers more attractions, entertainment, and atmosphere than any of the
other theme parks. Its offerings are varied, from elaborate stage shows to classic dark rides
to roller coasters. Magic Kingdom is best toured over two or more days, but guests with
limited time still have the opportunity to visit the highlights and take in the fabulous night-
time entertainment.
FastPass+ at Magic Kingdom
There are far more FastPass+ opportunities at Magic Kingdom than at any of the other
theme parks, making the decision on which to pick difficult. Visitors who know they want
to avoid character meets or the more thrilling rides have an easier set of choices. Other-
