WHAT TO EXPECT
Housed inside of a full-size replica of the famous Grauman's Chinese
Theater, Movie Ride's preshow area features movie memorabilia and a large room with
a giant movie screen that plays short clips from popular older movies. Riders board
70-person slow-moving vehicles, and a live narrator helps move the story along as you
travel through famous movie scenes recreated with the help of Animatronic characters.

on either the far left or right sides. Request the middle section of the vehicle for the best
syncing between the visuals and audio.
Echo Lake
Star Tours is the standout in this land, which is also home to Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spec-
tacular and Jedi Training Academy, in addition to several eateries. 50's Prime Time Café,
with its comfort food and fun atmosphere, is Dave's favorite Studios restaurant. Hollywood
& Vine next door is a Disney Jr character buffet for breakfast and lunch that is a lot of
fun with kids of the appropriate age, but the expensive, usually-characterless dinner is best
skipped. From May 4 through June 14, the restaurant will offer a Star Wars themed dinner
with Jedi Mickey, Princess Leia Minnie, Darth Vader Goofy, Storm Trooper Donald, and
Ewoks Chip 'n' Dale. The cost is $58 for adults and $35 for kids ages 3-9 or two credits on
the Dining Plan. Backlot Express is the quick service, largely serving Disney staples like
chicken nuggets, hamburgers, hot dogs, and sandwiches. The food at Backlot isn't great,
but there's nicely themed air-conditioned seating inside. Min & Bill's Dockside Diner on
Echo Lake serves sandwiches, pork shanks, and booze, and is an excellent stop for those in
a hurry. Tatooine Traders sits adjacent to Star Tours and is the best location for
Star Wars
merchandise.
Indiana Jones
merchandise is available at the show's exit and to the right of
50's Prime Time.
A Note on Jedi Training Academy
: Kids between the ages of 4 and 12 can participate in
this show held next to Star Tours that trains them in the arts of the Jedi. Because slots are
severely limited in number, sign up your kids first thing. To sign up for a slot, bring the
participating child to the building across from Indiana Jones and in front of Star Tours, im-
mediately after the park opens. Ask for an afternoon show to not interfere with morning
touring. If they can't accommodate, let others sign up first, and then sign up for a show
after 12pm.
Otherwise, with no high priority attractions, Echo Lake is best saved for the late morning
or afternoon, particularly with a FastPass+ for Star Tours.
