It's best skipped. The Joy of Tea stand on the water is a surprisingly good spot to pick up a
strong drink or fruity cocktail depending on the group's mood at the time.
Shopping in China is above average at the expansive House of Good Fortune on the left
side of the pavilion. You'll find silk robes, traditional fans, tea sets, jewelry, puppets, and
more.
Germany Pavilion
Featuring a statue of Saint George slaying a dragon, and a clock tower with a glockenspiel
that chimes on the hour, the architecture in Germany is interesting and varied. The main
attraction is Altenmunster Oktoberfest beer on draft—there are no traditional attractions or
entertainment here. Still, take a moment to peruse Karamell-Kuche (Caramel Kitchen), in
addition to the stores that offer made-in-Germany toys, cuckoo clocks, beer steins, toys,
apparel, and other fun items. As you walk toward Italy, pay special attention to the outdoor
model train set on the left.
Biergarten is the table service restaurant, featuring a smorgasbord of traditional German
salads, roasted meats, pretzel bread, soups, and more. A traditional oompah band plays in-
termittently throughout the day inside the restaurant. Lunch is priced well. Sommerfest is
the pavilion's quick service, offering a variety of bratwurst, frankfurters, and other tradi-
tional German foods. Seating for it is scarce.
Italy Pavilion
The focal point of the Italy Pavilion is the 105-foot-tall functioning replica of St Mark's
Campanile, the bell tower that looks out over the World Showcase Lagoon. Also promin-
ently featured is a replica of the Doge's Palace, originally built by the Venetians in the early
14th century. In typical Disney fashion, the Palace is full of fine Italian perfume, handmade
masks, soccer jerseys, pasta, and other items Italia. Italy is otherwise mostly restaurants and
bars. Best is Via Napoli in the back of the pavilion, serving authentic Neapolitan pizzas.
Without a reservation, try Tutto Gusto, the wine bar attached to the Tutto Italia restaurant
with hundreds of Italian wines, rare Italian beer on draft, and an appetizer and dessert menu
that's hard to beat. Tutto Italia is more formal, but still perfect for families and couples,
serving regional Italian fare. A mime and a flag-waving troupe entertain guests most days.
United States Pavilion
The United States Pavilion is mostly housed inside of a single Colonial-style mansion that
was built using 110,000 hand-made Georgian clay bricks.
Major attraction: The American Adventure , a 30-minute theater show blending film and
Animatronics, is the principal attraction. The patriotic show briefly retells the history of
America and runs on a set schedule with the next show listed on posters outside the pavil-
