In-Depth Information
responsiveness, or power. In a surprise to many, this design step does not affect the ride in
any way. Riders then board six-person vehicles with two rows of three seats each and em-
bark on their journey with several sharp turns and increases and decreases in speed before
launching outside at speeds up to 65 miles per hour. single rider : Test Track offers a single-
rider line with the entrance to the left of standby. Waits are usually shorter than standby
or FastPass+ because single riders don't go through the design process and the seating ar-
rangement creates more openings. SCARY FACTOR Low. Test Track is just a little more in-
tense than normal driving.
WHEN TO GO Immediately after park opening, in the final hour of operation, or with
FastPass+. EXPECT TO WAIT 60 to 100 minutes in the afternoon. LENGTH 5 minutes. WHERE
TO SIT Request the front row for the best view.
Future World West
Three large pavilions make up the bulk of Future World West. Soarin' on the lower level of
the Land Pavilion is its headlining attraction and a top morning priority. Most other attrac-
tions can safely be saved for the afternoon or early evening. Prior to its 2013 refurbishment,
Character Spot was a top priority. Now that it has doubled its capacity, wait times are rarely
longer than 20 minutes.
Starbucks is located in the old Fountain View Café building to the right of the fountain.
Club Cool, situated behind it, offers free samples of Coca-Cola products from around the
world. Sunshine Seasons is arguably the best quick service in any theme park. You'll find it
in between Soarin' and Living with the Land in the Land Pavilion. Coral Reef and Garden
Grill are the two table service restaurants. Coral Reef receives mixed reviews, but the view
of The Seas aquarium is intriguing. Garden Grill is a fun family-style character meal hosted
by farmers Mickey, Pluto, Chip, and Dale inside the Land Pavilion.
Retail is light, with small stores and kiosks popping up at most attraction exits.
Captain EO
RANKING Skippable, though the air-conditioned theater is comfortable. EMH Evening. FP+
Yes. Lowest priority. TYPE 4D show. REQUIREMENTS None.
WHAT TO EXPECT An eight-minute documentary hosted by George Lucas and Francis Ford
Coppola precedes the loud 17-minute 3D show. 4D effects are slim, but the theater briefly
shakes. The show's plot is both nonsensical and difficult to follow, but Thriller -era Michael
Jackson has some interest for some. SCARY FACTOR EO is dark with aliens, danger, and sev-
eral unrealistic torture scenes that last a few seconds. It shouldn't upset anyone over the
age of ten, but apprehensive youngsters may want to sit it out.
WHEN TO GO For most: never. For the rest: in the afternoon or early evening when waits
elsewhere are long. EO usually closes at 7pm. EXPECT TO WAIT Only as long as it takes for
the next show to start. LENGTH 8-minute pre-show, 17-minute show. WHERE TO SIT In the
middle at least half way from the screen.
