the hotel. Second, resort fees that typically cost $15-$20 per night are another concern. For
some families, the price discount may be too much to overlook this trip, and there's nothing
wrong with that. But be sure to consider all the costs associated with a stay that may not be
included in the initial price.
There are literally thousands of off-site hotels, motels, campgrounds, vacation homes,
condos, etc., in and around Orlando. Target your search to the Highway 192/West Irlo
Bronson Highway and/or the Downtown Disney Resort Areas to narrow your search to
convenient locations. The value of honing in on these two areas is simple: from almost any
place in Walt Disney World, you can find directional signage to 192, and directional sig-
nage to Downtown Disney.
Walt Disney World is much more complicated than many first-time visitors imagine,
and your first few days of finding your way around will be made simpler by this signage.
• The street address of hotels on 192 will include either “Highway 192” and/or the
words “Irlo Bronson Highway”.
• The street address of hotels in the Downtown Disney Resort Area will include
“Hotel Plaza Boulevard”.
It's possible to find multiple-bedroom vacation homes available for short-term rentals in
the Orlando area for a fraction of the price you'd pay to stay in some of the deluxe large
family options at Walt Disney World, even counting your rental car costs. Airbnb is also
becoming more accepted in Orlando.
First-time visitors benefit most from staying on property at a Disney owned and oper-
ated resort. While more expensive than their off-site counterparts, it's hard to put a price on
the convenience and peace of mind that an on-site stay in a Disney resort offers.
