12.6 Discussion
The use of a case study site was critical to focus the collaboration and to allow a 're-survey'
in terms of digital data and historical, textual and image data. This analysis in combination
with several field visits allowed the discussion of the nature and meaning of digital data in
relation to their real-world counterparts. Also, studies of the relative importance of various
data sources to our understanding of the landscape and how ideas of 'spatial context' were
affected by varying degrees of
a-priori
