6.7.3 Jewell Area prototype
The evaluation was based on the three primary way finding tasks specified by Darken and
Sibert (1996). These are:
naive search - where the navigator has no a priori knowledge of the whereabouts of the
target, requiring an exhaustive search;
primed search - where the navigator knows the location of the target, performing a non-
exhaustive search; and
exploration - where there is no target.
