9.3 Case Example: Application of Models and Measurements
This section describes the application of the assessment process to a case example shared
by the authors of Sections II and III of this handbook. Taking as example the case of S.A.
(Table 9.1), the psychotechnologist will investigate whether the environmental expectations
(family, health, and educational operators) meet the actual user's possibilities to use the
AT to communicate; moreover, the psychotechnologist will also analyze all of the related
clinician material, and once he or she individualizes the real user's needs, he or she will
seek the appropriate assistive solution in cooperation with the entire multidisciplinary
team by using different tools (e.g., the Vineland scale). During the checking trials of the
