You may remember that, back in chapter 4, we discussed the concepts of provision-
ing and resolution. These are two fundamental parts of enterprise OSG i deploy-
ment and, as such, are worth a second, deeper look. Although we stand by the
statement that “provisioning is a relatively simple operation,” and the fact that
many OSG i developers will succeed by treating provisioning as a black box, there
are a few subtleties that you can use to your advantage. Understanding subtleties
like these marks the difference between a competent enterprise OSG i developer
