additives. and. contaminants.. Hence,. it. is. important. to.know. the. characteris-
tics.of.both.the.additives.and.contaminants..Also,.the.choice.of.additives.is.an.
important.factor.for.stabilization..There.are.many.additives.that.can.be.used.
for.stabilization,.such.as.cement,.pozzolan,.lime,.ly.ash,.and.iron.(hydr)oxide..
In.the.case.of.arsenic.stabilization,.several.ferric.(hydr)oxides.are.widely.used.
as.adsorbents.for.the.removal.of.arsenic.from.aqueous.solutions.or.contami-
nated.soils..For.poorly.crystalline.iron.oxyhydroxides.and.iron.oxide.minerals.
in.aqueous.solution,.the.kinetics.and.equilibrium.of.arsenic.sorption,.as.well.
as.the.factors.affecting.the.sorption.behavior,.have.been.studied.
