18.1.4 Zoom Window
Scrolling the mouse wheel or pressing the number pad + and - keys will zoom in and out in
the node editor window. Click and hold the MMB to pan the window.
18.1.5 Connecting and Disconnecting Nodes
You will see that the material node is connected to the output node by a curved line between
the two yellow “Color” sockets (Figure 18.5). Click and hold on the output node's yellow
socket and drag your mouse away from the socket; release the hold, and you will have dis-
connected the nodes (the connecting line disappears). Click and hold on the material node's
yellow socket, drag the mouse to the output node's yellow socket, and release the hold to
reconnect the nodes. In general, sockets should be connected yellow to yellow, gray to gray,
and blue to blue.

18.2 Node Groups
Several nodes may be grouped together; this is a way of saving space on the
screen since the group is able to be expanded and collapsed. To group nodes,
press the B key, drag a rectangle around the nodes you wish to group, then
press Ctrl + the G key (Figure 18.6). Selecting the group and pressing Alt +
the G key ungroups the selection, and pressing Tab toggles between expand-
ing and collapsing the group.
