17.5 Fluid Simulation with Control Objects
Besides domain, fluid, obstacle, inflow, and particle
objects, there is also the control object. Control ob-
jects are placed in the scene within the domain to in-
fluence the flow of fluid. In Figure 17.24, a domain
has been set up containing an inflow cube object and
an outflow cylinder object. The inflow provides a con-
tinuous flow of fluid, which simply accumulates on
the floor of the domain until it reaches the level of the
outflow object.
In Figure 17.25, a cone object has been added to
the domain as a control object. With the control cone
added, the fluid flows towards the cone before seeking
the outflow object. By placing control objects within
the domain, the flow of fluid can be directed.
