Vertex moved in edit mode
Original shape in object mode
Select the plane in the 3D widow and click on the + sign in
the properties window - “Object Data” button - “Shape Keys”
tab. The tab expands, showing that a “Basis Key” has been in-
serted. Additionally, a summary line is added in the dope sheet
window. Click on the + sign again and “Key 1” will be added
(Figure 16.2). Note that in the dope sheet shape key window,
“Key 1” is also displayed (at the upper LH side of the window).
With the cursor in the 3D window, tab to edit mode and dese-
lect all the vertices with the A key. Select one of the vertices and
drag it (press the G key and drag the mouse) and tab to object
mode—the plane reverts to its original shape (Figure 16.3) be-
cause moving the vertices in edit mode has set the limits for their motion.
In the properties window - “Object Data” button - “Shape Keys” tab, changing “Value”
by moving the slider changes the shape of the plane in the 3D window (Figure 16.2). You
can also change the shape by moving the slider next to “Key 1” in the dope sheet shape
