given a one hour window to return which provided you some flexibility as you planned
your day. Instead of waiting in line for an hour or two, you would be free to walk around

during the timeframe printed on your pass. Instead of getting into the regular line, you pro-
ceeded to the FASTPASS Return line and pretty much walk right on! While there was usu-

lines of a couple of hours (or more) at the major attractions during peak times, FASTPASS
was a boon for customer service and satisfaction, and always FREE!
Over the years of increasing attendance at all of Disney's parks, the system began to get
a bit overwhelmed. As anyone who has ever gone to Hollywood Studios in the afternoon
during peak seasons in the hopes of grabbing a Toy Story Midway Mania FASTPASS will
attest, it got to the point that the paper system just didn't work anymore. It was then that
Disney decided to scrap the paper FASTPASS system and replace it with the 'new and im-
proved' FastPass+.
FastPass+ takes the original paper system to an all-new level. Gone are the separate paper
ticket machines at the prime attractions at each of the parks. Those have been replaced by
a limited number of walk-up electronic kiosks at each park, and the new My Disney Ex-
perience planner and mobile app. With FastPass+, you can reserve your attractions up to
30 days prior to your Disney vacation, and up to 60 days in advance if you're staying on
Disney property.
When you purchase your Disney tickets, you simply link them to your account so you can
choose your FastPass+ attractions. When you login to the My Disney Experience app or to
your account from the Disney site, you'll be able to pick up to three FastPass+ attractions
per day at a single park. This gives you the advantage of being able to plan your day in ad-
vance based on which park you plan to attend, and what time of day you wish to ride. This
can be a disadvantage too for the exact same reason. Some people don't want to plan that
far in advance- and you may not even want to plan this way the same day you're attending
the park. Don't worry though- if you want to change your plans you can do so the same
day.UsingthefreeMyDisneyExperiencesmartphoneapp,oroneoftheFastPass+kiosks
