Off-property options can provide an excellent value
Disadvantages of staying off Disney property
• Unless you drive to Disney, you're pretty much forced to rent a car. That,
and the cost of parking at the theme parks can offset some of the savings of
staying offsite.
• After a long day at the parks you may just want to hop on a bus or monorail
and be dropped off at your hotel without having to pile into the car and nav-
igate back in the dark.
• Even the closest of the off-property resorts are further away from the parks
than the farthest onsite Disney resorts.
• Depending on where you stay (the farther away from the parks you are, the
cheaper the rooms will be), some of the parks may be a ½ hour drive or
more.
• Ifyoubuysouvenirsintheparks,you'llbestuckcarryingthemaroundwith
you all day, or you'll have to wait in line at the park's package pickup to
pickthemupattheendofalongday.It'susuallyaprettyquickprocess,but
believe me you'll spend enough time waiting in lines without adding one
