How long to stay
If you're taking your first trip to Walt Disney World and plan to visit all four theme parks,
you'll probably want to plan at least a seven day vacation. This will give you at least one
full day at each park, and allow you to visit a couple of your favorites more than once. On
our typical Disney visit of 7-10 days, we usually visit Magic Kingdom at least three times!
What's that? You didn't know that Disney World has four major theme parks? Don't worry,
you're not alone. Many people think that Magic Kingdom IS Walt Disney World and don't
realize there are three other theme parks that are part of Disney World too! The four theme
parksthatmakeupWaltDisneyWorldare:MagicKingdom(theoriginalpark...theonewith
the big castle) which opened in 1971, Epcot, which opened in 1982, Disney's Hollywood
Studios (1989), and Animal Kingdom which opened in 1998.
Another factor to consider when deciding on the length of your stay, is whether or not you
are planning to visit Disney's awesome water parks. (Which I'd highly recommend!) Dis-
ney's Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach are a great way too cool off after spending part
of the day in the hot Florida sun. You can get a great deal on tickets to these parks if you
select the Water Park Fun & More option when purchasing your Disney tickets. (I'll explain
that a bit more in the Disney Ticket Information section.)
