os since 2009, The American Idol Experience was closed at the end of August, 2014. The
location was temporarily used to house the “For the First Time in Forever - a 'Frozen'
Sing-Along Celebration late in 2014, but as of this writing an official replacement for the
attraction has yet to be announced.
The American Idol Experience had a good run
The end of 2014 also saw the end of the Studio Backlot Tour, an opening-day attraction
at Hollywood Studios. After a run of more than 25 years as part of the Streets of America
section of the park, the Studio Backlot Tour came to an end on Saturday, September 27
th
,
2014. One rumor for the re-use of the vast amount of land occupied by the attraction is for
Disney to create a duplicate of the hugely popular Radiator Springs Racers, part of Cars
Land at Disney's California Adventure theme park, although nothing is confirmed at this
time.

ingoftheIndianaJonesEpicStuntSpectacular!showintheEchoLakesectionofthepark,
and the possible closing or re-imagining of the famed Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme
Stunt Show, a staple in the Streets of America section of Hollywood Studios since 2005.
Both sets of rumors have the attractions becoming part of a new a Star Wars and/or Cars
Land sections of the park respectively. At this time, the Indiana Jones speculation seems
to be more credible, but we'll just have to wait and see. It's clear that whatever happens,
Hollywood Studios is on the verge of some major changes. Stay tuned.
