In-Depth Information
the reaction mechanism and designing the new catalytic system, which
operates at lower temperature and pressure, and follows the principles of
green chemistry to minimize waste production and energy eciency. It is a
great challenge to meet the requirements for the development of new
catalysts and catalytic systems, but also a great opportunity.
The shift from a fossil-based chemical industry to one based on bio-
mass still poses many challenges, but the possibilities are also great: to
develop a more sustainable chemical industry utilizing a more versatile
feedstock supply and producing products with superior properties. Along
with contributions from both academe and industry, we are looking
forward to the development of sustainable society.
