Myit Phyar Zaw Gyi Hotel HOTEL $
( 081-66403; 106 Zaw Ti Kar Yone St; r $10-20) Next to the market and close to the
lakeshore, Pindaya's one true budget option is tidy, friendly and good value for money.
Pindaya Hotel HOTEL $
( 081-66189; Shwe U Min Pagoda Rd; r $40-50; ) The 'deluxe' rooms in the funky main
structure are spacious, have lots of natural light, balconies looking over the lake, and at-
tractive wood flooring and furnishings. The cheaper 'superior' rooms are smaller and at
ground level. It's pleasant, but given the lack of amenities - no TV or fridge - feels
somewhat overpriced. Located just south of 'downtown' Pindaya on Shwe U Min Pa-
goda Rd.
Pindaya Inle Inn HOTEL $$$
( 081-66029; www.pindayainleinn.com ; Mahar Bandular Rd; r/chalets $75-120; ) Located
at the entrance to town, across the lake from Shwe Oo Min Pagoda, this is a surprisingly
sophisticated place to stay for a small town like Pindaya. Rooms are in either bamboo or
stone cottages, in a lovingly tended garden centred on a longhouse-style restaurant and
bar. The larger, more expensive 'cottages' really do feel like small homes, and come
equipped with TV, fridge, huge bathrooms with tub, and fireplace.
Conqueror Resort Hotel HOTEL $$$
( 081-66106; www.conquererresorthotel.com ; off Shwe U Min Padoga Rd; r $70-100; )
There isn't a blade of grass out of place at this immaculately maintained resort hotel near
the main entrance to the caves. Rooms are set in duplex bungalows around a central res-
taurant and a large, inviting pool. All come equipped with TV, a minibar and balcony,
and the 'suite' rooms tack on a spacious and stylish bathroom.
