Airlines flying out of Heho include

offices are in Heho and/or Taunggyi, but several Nyaungshwe-based agents can sell tick-
ets.
The airlines have spider web-like networks of flights across the country, with many
destinations only reachable via multiple transfers; be sure to double-check if your flight
is direct or not.
Taxis waiting at the airport charge K25,000 to Nyaungshwe (one hour). If you're
pinching pennies and have the time, a cheaper but much, much less convenient option is
to hike the near mile to NH4 and wait for a pick-up truck or bus bound for Taunggyi
(from K2000, 1½ hours); ask to be let off at Shwenyaung, from where you charter a
thoun bein
(motorcycle trishaw) to Nyaungshwe (K6000). You will most likely face a
long wait.
BUS, MINIVAN, PICK-UP & VAN (SHARE TAXI)
To Inle Lake, any bus bound for Taunggyi can drop you at Shwenyaung - located at the
junction for Nyaungshwe/Inle Lake - for the full Taunggyi fare. From Shwenyaung,

drivers will take you the remaining 7 miles to Nyaungshwe for around
K6000.

can sell tickets and ar-
range hotel pick-up. Otherwise, if you're bound for somewhere else or those times don't
work, you'll need to hop on a bus, minivan, pick-up or van (actually a share taxi) in Sh-
wenyaung - all transport that originates in Taunggyi stops at this town on NH4.
To get to Shwenyaung, hop on any Taunggyi-bound pick-up at the
pick-up stand
(Yone Gyi Rd)
west of the market (K1000), or charter a
thoun bein
from the queue on Lan
Ma Taw St (K6000). Be sure to be at the junction in Shwenyaung early so you don't miss

TAXI
The easiest way to find a taxi in Nyaungshwe is to ask at your hotel. Charter taxi fares
include Shwenyaung (K10,000, 30 minutes), Taunggyi (K20,000, one hour), Heho
(K20,000, one hour) and Kalaw (K40,000, three hours). Taxis have room for up to four
passengers.
