HPAN PU MOUNTAIN

Across the Thanlwin River from Hpa-an, Hpan Pu Mountain is a craggy, pagoda-
topped peak that can be scaled in one sweaty morning. Getting there involves hop-
ping on one of the river crossing boats (K500, every 30 minutes from 7am to 5pm)
from the informal jetty near Shweyinhmyaw Paya. Upon reaching the other side,
