One of the busiest cinemas in the city, this place
hosts the European Film Festival in September each year.

Although the buffet meal served here is universally slated, the
stage inside this concrete replica of a Burmese royal barge is one of the few places in Yan-
gon where you can watch a cultural show of traditional dance and puppetry.
National Theatre

Opened in 1991, the National Theatre is a boxy modern struc-
ture, which little reflects traditional Burmese architecture. That said, the venue is increas-
ingly being put to good use for a variety of shows.
