10-storey Panorama is not the most modern place but rooms are vast and generally well
appointed.

good addition to Yangon's stock of midrange hotels, this new place is simply decorated.
Spruce rooms are functional and spacious, with attached bathrooms with shower only.
It's not worth paying extra for the suites, which offer little more than the standard rooms.

) Friendly Burmese-French couple Aldrich and Gladyis manage this pleasantly renov-
ated apartment in Chinatown that's worth hunting down. The five cosy rooms (a couple
without windows) share a bathroom. There's a big, well-equipped kitchen, and lounge
with library and gym equipment.
Excellent Burmese-style massages can also be arranged (K15,000 for one hour).
East Hotel HOTEL $$$

dash of contemporary style helps this newish hotel stand out from the downtown
midrange crowd. Take note, though, if you prefer your ablutions to be private from your
