ADMIN
Associating and Triggering Responses Using a
Metadata Subscription
Now that you've created your fields and associated them in the Publish Destinations meta-
data group, you need to associate the copy responses you created earlier in the lesson with
these fields using a metadata subscription. By using Boolean metadata fields, you'll be able
to trigger your copy and transcode responses by having a user simply check the appropri-
ate Boolean field. This allows automations to trigger existing assets in the catalog from
within the client application, while automations associated with watchers are triggered
outside the client application.
First, you must associate the new fields you made with the Asset Filter metadata group.
NOTE As you learned earlier, the Asset Filter group is used in advanced searches, in
permission sets, and also with metadata subscriptions. Editing this group makes your
custom fields available to those functions of Final Cut Server.

In the Administration window of the client application, choose Metadata Group in the
left menu. In the search field on the right, enter Asset Filter and click Search. Double-
click Asset Filter from the search-results list, which opens that metadata group for
editing.
