In-Depth Information
If an STMP is not available or configured correctly, you will find a response
failed error message in the log.
Double-click the topmost entry to see the details that were logged as the email response
was triggered by the change in metadata. The entry tells you the ID of the log entry,
the time that the response was triggered, the name of the response triggered, and some
detail about the actual response.

Close the Log entry window, but leave the Administration window open.
In the next part of the lesson, you'll learn how to customize the default template to
better suit individual workflow needs.
ADMIN
Customizing the Default Review and Approve Template
In the previous part of the lesson, you learned about the automations and metadata
structure of the built-in Review and Approve functionality. For most shops, this default
template will be a good starting point, but more customization might be needed. Many
workflows have different steps and processes associated with them, so one of the most
common modifications here is to change the values of the Status lookup. Also, some
shops don't like allowing user entry for the “Required reviewers” field, as people have been
known to mistype email addresses. This can be solved by using a lookup with this field.
The lookup can list individual or group email addresses. This ensures that emails go out
to the appropriate recipients.
More than likely, you will also need multiple text-entry fields for comments from each
of the individuals in your workflow. Finally, one notification is usually not enough for a
group of users. For the workflow to be successful, many people have to be notified at dif-
ferent points in the collaboration process. Also, you might not want certain individuals
to have access to all the source material. For example, it's likely that you won't want your
executive producer to see all the raw content in the catalog—just the finished assets that
are clean and ready to be seen.
