Investigating the Built-In Review and Approve Template
Final Cut Server ships with a default metadata template that supports Review and
Approve right out of the box. All the relevant fields for Review and Approve are stored in
the Review and Approve metadata group. It's built into all of the default asset metadata
sets and has some default fields that will work for most shops. If you're making your own
custom metadata sets and want to use the Review and Approve functionality, it's impor-
tant to add the Review and Approve metadata group to your custom metadata set.
Before you dive into customizing Review and Approve, let's take a look at Final Cut
Server's built-in functionality and the automations that come installed by default. The
default automation is a metadata subscription that sends out an email based on a change
in the Status pop-up menu.
