Modifying the Graphic Metadata Set
In the next few exercises, you'll use a watch folder to import graphics into Final Cut
Server. At first you'll use built-in metadata and mappings, and then you'll see how
to create new fields and mapping to match fields that are available in the source
applications.
When installed, Final Cut Server sets up a few watchers in the Watchers device. One of
those watchers is the Graphic watch folder. Before you use this watcher, you'll modify the
Graphic metadata set to recognize an asset's EXIF metadata.
1
In the Administration window, click the Metadata Set pane.
Double-click the Graphic metadata set.
2
This is the default metadata set applied to files dropped into the Graphic watcher.
Select the “Photo Info - EXIF” group from the Available list and add it to the set. Click
Save Changes. When installed, Final Cut Server sets up a few watchers in a Watchers
device. We'll use one of these to get graphics into the system.
3
This group contains a number of fields that have mappings—such as Focal Length
and Camera Model—to what you would see in a program such as Aperture.
