An edit-in-place device is one in which the server and clients have access to the media
in the same path. Typically this would be an Xsan device, but it is also possible to con-
figure other devices as edit-in-place.

If Edit Proxies are enabled, they will be created for assets contained in a Final Cut Pro
project when the project is added or checked in.

application. You can also set the maximum cache size.

The asset must first be cached on the local machine. It can then be dragged into Final
Cut Pro.
