Locking and Unlocking Assets
Assets can be locked so that others cannot delete or overwrite the asset or its primary rep-
resentation. There are two methods for doing this:
Choose Lock from the asset's shortcut menu. You can access the asset's shortcut menu
by right-clicking its icon in Thumbnails view.
Select the asset in a search-results list and click the Lock button in the Toolbar in the
main client application window.
A lock icon appears on the asset (in any view) to indicate that you locked it.
Only you or an administrator can unlock an asset that you originally locked. There are
four methods for doing this:
Click the lock icon directly on the asset's icon in Thumbnails view.
Choose Unlock from the asset's shortcut menu.
Select the asset in a search results list, and click the Unlock button in the Toolbar in
the main client application window.
Administrators can clear the lock from the Locks pane in the asset info window.
