Vasa
, a Swedish galleon that sank in the Baltic Sea in 1628 and was
recovered in 1959. This is the only original galleon still in existence. There were many
galleon designs. The Spanish adapted one specifically for their treasure fleets.
English galleons, such as Francis Drake's
Golden Hind
, were smaller and faster.
