To establish a pairing between some Bluetooth devices, you must type a passkey on the device.

When MacBook Air wakes from sleep mode, the Bluetooth mouse doesn't always respond right away. Wait a few
seconds (usually no more than about ten) to give the mouse time to reestablish its connection. Sometimes clicking the
mouse helps it reconnect right away.
Configuring a Bluetooth device
When you connect a Bluetooth device, in most cases you just go ahead and start using it. However, MacBook
Air gives you a limited number of options for working with your Bluetooth device. For example, you can mon-
itor the battery levels of many Bluetooth devices. To do this, click the Bluetooth status icon in the menu bar and
then click the device. As you can see in Figure 2.12, the menu that appears includes an item that shows the cur-
rent battery level. You can also use this menu to open the device's preferences or disconnect it.
