For Time Machine backups to store data beyond 10GB, select the GUID Partition Table option.
11. Click Partition.
Disk Utility partitions the external hard drive.
12. When the partition is complete, choose Disk Utility
→
Quit Disk Utility.
13. Open System Preferences.
14. Click the Time Machine icon.
15. Click Select Disk.
16. Click your external hard drive and then click Use Disk.
MacBook Air is now configured to use the
repartitioned drive for Time Machine backups.
Solving Safari Troubles
Safari runs smoothly for the most part, but sometimes you'll need to overcome obstacles or simply adjust some
preferences, such as how Safari tracks your web browsing. On rare occasions, you may encounter a website that
won't open. You can work around that with Terminal. Even exporting your old Favorites from Internet Explorer
isn't an insurmountable task for Safari!
You want to hide your browsing tracks in Safari
The sites you visit on your own time are nobody else's business but your own, of course. However, in the in-
terest of convenience, Safari keeps careful track of the sites you visit and the pages within those sites that you
load. This information is stored in various Safari areas, particularly the history, but also in cookies and the
Downloads window. If you're worried about other people seeing where you've been browsing, you need to re-
move some (or all) of this data.
For starters, consider the fact that it's distressingly easy to take a wrong turn on the web and end up in a bad
