Inserting notes and tracking changes
InDesign provides a Notes panel and a Track Changes panel for reviewing and col-
laborating on documents (Window > Editorial). The panel menus provide access
to many of the features. For Track Changes, you can also use options in the Type
menu.
Tracking changes
For some projects, it's important to see what changes are made to the text throughout the
design and review process. In addition, reviewers may suggest changes that another user
can accept or reject. As with a word-processing program, you can track text that is added,
deleted, or moved using the Story Editor.
In this document, we will make a suggestion for a change to the table of contents, then ac-
cept that change so it's no longer tracked.
1. Scroll up to the first spread in the document. Using the Type tool ( ), click in the
first table of contents entry: “P48/2 Wheels Good.”
