Using the Selection tool, click to select the text frame at the left. Drag the center
handle on the bottom of the text frame up to decrease the frame's size.
The text reflows to the second column and the size of that text frame automatically
expands.
Tip
Once you place a file into a layout, the writers and editors should stop
workingontheircopyofthefile.Thisisbecause,bydefault,InDesigndoes
not retain a link to a placed .docx file. Retaining and updating a link to the
source text file could result in the loss of text formatting applied by the de-
signer or create overset text. Therefore, any additional text edits are made
by the designer in the InDesign layout.
