Inspecting the cluster
We will now investigate the Hadoop cluster with HBase.
Never forget to use spot instances, which can be up to
10 times cheaper.
If you build your Hadoop cluster using Cloudera Manager , you will see a screen
similar to the one we have next. (We are showing Hadoop 1 and the CDH4
distribution, and you will most likely be dealing with the next version, Hadoop 2,
but for our exploration of HBase, it will make little difference.)
The screenshot we just saw (in the previous chapter) shows multiple Hadoop
services running; HBase being one of them. HBase in turn depends on HDFS
and ZooKeeper. Here, all should be in good working order.
To go to HBase, click on the hbase1 service on the left-hand side of the following
screenshot, and you will be taken to the screen dedicated to HBase, as shown here:
