Tracking Markers and Track Settings
To track a particular point in the video, you need to place a tracking marker on that point. You place a tracking
marker by pressing Ctrl and clicking the left mouse button on the point you want to track. Figure 10-7 shows
a newly placed tracking marker. The two squares over the video frame are the tracking marker itself. The inner
square is the pattern area and the larger square is the search area. The pattern area represents the actual pattern
that the algorithm will try to track from frame to frame. This pattern is displayed in the Track viewport in the
upper portion ofthe Properties shelf to the right. The search area represents the area within which the algorithm
will look to try to find the pattern when the pattern moves from frame to frame.
