The image with the Environment pass added
Here's why the Environment pass is not quite what you should add here. The Environment pass provides
globalvaluesfortheenvironmentlighting,buttheactualtonalenergythatshouldbeaddedtotheimagedepends
on the material colors for each object. That is to say, before the environment lighting is added, it must be multi-
plied by the Color pass, as shown in
Figure 9-30
and repeated in the color insert of the topic. This makes sense,
because the monkey head obviously needs some purple.
We now have an image that looks pretty good. We can compare the output of our Composite node network
with the original Combined pass in
Figure 9-31
, repeated in color in the color insert.
