Setting Up an Explode Modifier with Dynamic Particles
Particlescanserveasthebasisforbreakingsolidobjectsapart,usingtheExplodemodifier.Youcanseeasimple
example of this by following these steps to make a sphere burst apart into jagged pieces.
1. Begin with an Icosphere. Add a subdivision surface modifier and set the shading to Smooth. Disable
Gravity in the Scene properties area.
2. Add a particle system to the Icosphere object. The values shown in Figure 6-25 will do. The particles
should start and end in a fairly brief burst, sothe End value should be nomore than 5.Youcan tweak this
to affect how quickly the particles burst from the object, but I'm setting it fairly slow to be able to look at
individual frames of the explosion.
