the strength of the force with an F-Curve in the same way you would control other keyable values. This enables
you to create effects such as gusty winds or to change the direction of a vortex force.
Deflection
Particles can be made to bounce off an object rather than penetrate it by activating Collision properties in the
Physics properties area of the object. The particle-related Collision properties are as follows:
Permeability Permeability determines how many particles penetrate the surface of the deflector object. The
defaultvalueof0meansthatallparticles willbounceoffthesurface.Avalueof1meansthatalltheparticles
will pass through the object. As Figure 6-21 shows, a value of 0.5 will result in half of the particles passing
through the object while the other half bounce off the surface. Permeability, like several of the deflection
parameters, can be keyed so that the value changes over time.
