Particles rendering as a group
Billboard
Billboard displays particles as two-dimensional panels called
billboards
that are set by default to
face the camera at all times (this setting can be adjusted). The panels can be textured with images as shown
in
Figure 6-13
(for example, to create trees in a forest) or with procedural textures to simulate volumetric
effects.
