Modeling Ears

1. Begin the process by sketching out the shape of the ear with the additive Layer tool. This will start to
raise the surface of the mesh in the shape of the ear to give you some material to work with, as shown in
Figure 3-40 . Follow the guidelines you drew with the Grease Pencil.
2. Sculpt the shape of the ear further using the additive Draw tool for the areas that protrude and the sub-
tractive Draw tool for the recesses, as shown in Figure 3-41 . Note that the front-view image used in this
example is slightly foreshortened. The ears should protrude slightly more than they appear to in the pho-
tograph.
