After the lips are smoothed with the Smooth tool, the Pinch tool is used to define both the ridges along the
edgeofthelipsandthecreasebetweenthetopandbottomlips,asshownin Figure3-38 . Notethatbothofthese
are done with the Pinch tool in additive mode. Subtractive mode for the Pinch tool pushes the mesh away from
the tool's center and is not as frequently used as the additive mode.
The same basic methodology is used to model the eyelids. In Figure 3-39 , you can see the process of adding
ridges with the Draw tool, smoothing them with the Smooth tool, and then defining the crease with the Pinch
tool.
