Again, after making the rough sculpt, go over the area with the Smooth tool, as shown in Figure 3-35 .
ThePinchtoolisanimportanttoolforcreatingcreasesandsharpedges.ThePinchtoolpullsthemeshtoward
its center. When run along a bulge, the Pinch tool will create an edge; when run along the length of an indenta-
tion, it will pinch the indentation into the form of a crease. Use the Pinch tool as shown in Figure 3-36 to define
the crease around the nose.
Take a similar approach with the mouth. Figure 3-37 shows the Inflate tool being used to add volume to the
lips and the ridges under the nose. The Inflate tool is similar to the Draw tool except that instead of pulling the
mesh toward or away from the view, it inflates or deflates the mesh along the mesh normals. The differences
can be subtle, but they make Inflate a better tool for adding volume in cases like this.
